- Hello Jim and Jeff. I too use 28.8 baud on an Amiga3000 with no
- problems (that I am aware of :) ). I use AmigaDos 3.1. The
- serial.preferences in 3.1 only allows maximum baud rate setting of
- 31250, unlike on 2.1 which if I remember went up to 57800 ??. I
- therefore assumed I would not be able to use 28.8 baud with my
- USRobotics 28.8 fax modem. The maximum baud rate I got was 19200.
-
- Then someone on the internet pointed out that amitcp your dial script
- and the cslip.config would happily run at 28.8 ignoring the
- limitations set in the AmigaDos serial.device by serial.prefs. The
- trick is to make sure you have (I use CSLIP) the cslip0.config set to
- 38400 and the dialer script asking the serial device to use 38400.
- i.e. set serial parameters to 38400.
-
- (SerSetParms(38400, 8, N, 1, 0, 250000, 4096)

- Both these settings must be identical. So far it has worked like a charm
- including ftp downloads. I still get Amosaic crashing if it tries to
- load in forms more than 3 or 4 times, but then that's just mosaic
- isn't it?
-
- I have an A3000 25Mzh 18Meg ram no cards using a 4 colour workbench. I
- soon hope to add a graphics card, but I sure hope gremlins don't mess
- up my internet connections if I do ! Pretty hard to beat an Amiga3000
- isn't it ?
